a portrait series of the personalities I encountered while spending a month in Cape Town on the Alice Kimball English Traveling Fellowship in 2016. I wanted to capture the face of Cape Town which I found interesting within the context of the born free generation, as well as consider the formal and political tension of blackness as a color and political burden.
